During this hands-on experience, guests will learn to craft authentic local delicacies, including mouthwatering cheese pies, savory spinach pies, and delectable sweets (γαλατόπιτα ή μπακλαβάς).
The master baker (Kostas) will share his expertise and guide them through each step, from
choosing the best high-quality and fresh ingredients to taste the final product.

Enjoying the fruits of your labors with a big Greek lunch – sharing stories and learning about each other’s cultures and the amazing region of Epirus.

What’s included?

All ingredients, which are always fresh & local (the greens are harvested from our garden the day before, or the morning of – recipes depend on seasonal availability), custom digital recipe book based on the day’s creations, sent via .pdf after the Experience – these are our private recipes that even other Greeks don’t always know!

Aprons are provided during the Experience; guests can purchase them to take home.
The large Greek lunch includes what we make together plus seasonal salads, local cheeses, fresh, homemade tzatziki (the yogurt is made with our own sheep’s milk), and some of Zitsa’s famous wine made in the traditional style – the bottles we provide are homemade with either the grapes from our personal vineyard or our neighbor’s vineyard, plus the tasty dessert at the end.

We often have food left over that guests can take home to enjoy again.

And a recipe for you: Panos’ Amazing Tzatziki

Ingredients:

  • 200g strained Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 spoon of vinegar
  • ½ cucumber
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • Salt

How to Make It:

  1. Shred the cucumber into a strainer inside a bowl – shred it
vertically, so you only use the hard parts of the cucumber – try
    to avoid getting any seeds
  2. Push the cucumber against the strainer to get out as much liquid as
    possible
  3. Add two large pinches of salt – set aside for 5-10 minutes
  4. Shred garlic
  5. Put yogurt in a bowl – spread it out
  6. Squeeze the cucumber a little more
  7. Add cucumber to yogurt
  8. Add garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and a bit more salt to taste
  9. Mix all together and enjoy!!
