Nafplio Private Tours
A day trip to Nafplio for the first-time visitor will almost always include some, if not all, of the following Peloponnese sites:
The Corinth Canal, Ancient Corinth, the Acropolis of Corinth, the Mycenae Archaeological Site and Museum, Nafplio’s Old Town & Port, the Palamidi Fortress with its 999 steps, and the Epidaurus Ancient Theater.
TIP: Looking further into taking advantage of your Nafplio trip, we highly recommend visiting Hydra Island!
A Private Nafplio Tour is Only the Beginning
A day trip from Athens to Nafplio is a fantastic way to start exploring Greece. However, Nafplio is only our first stepping stone to our extremely popular Peloponnese multiday private tours.
To name a few, Monemvasia castletown, the Mani peninsula, Sparta/Mystras, and Ancient Olympia. Furthermore, there are numerous hidden locations for those who have the time to see real Greece, skipping the “touristy” locations they hear about from their friends or travel agents who have only visited Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini. For example, Ancient Messene, Methoni, Pylos, and the Arcadia mountain villages of Dimitsana and Stemnitsa. Finally, the amazing cliff-hanging monasteries!
In addition, right next to Nafplio, you can enjoy the most famous Greek wine area: the Greek “Napa Valley”, Nemea!

Posted on KABGeorgiaVerified Amazing, unique tour of the Peloponnese Wow! My husband and I had the most wonderful experience on our recent tour of the Peloponnese with Eudaimonia Private Tours & Experiences. We adjusted the itinerary with their help to add an extra day at the end to see Delphi, and that day also included the monastery of Hosios Loukas at their suggestion, which is home to some of the most lovely church wall paintings and mosaics I've ever seen. About the tour: first, seeing the Peloponnese is a wonderful way to experience the historic landscape of Greece, and see places you've read about in history and mythology. But to see many of the best parts of the Peloponnese, you really don't want to try that as a tourist driving a rental car. The mountain roads are incredibly steep, twisty and often narrow, though very well-maintained. We felt very safe with our driver/tour guide Panos, who was a terrific and careful driver, very knowledgeable about the landscape and sights, and also great company. Here's one example: on the day we were planning to visit one area, Panos was contacted by the hotel where we were to stay who sent a video of the rock slide that had just closed the route we would have taken. Panos had an excellent suggestion for adjusting our itinerary that day, which we happily did (we went to Ancient Messene instead, which was great). If we had been driving ourselves around, as we've often done in other countries, this would have been a much more difficult situation. Second, this tour included areas that I wouldn't have thought to visit, that turned out to be incredible. Examples included Monemvasia (which is comparable to Mont St. Michel in France) and two spectacular cave visits, plus some mountaintop villages I wouldn't have dared to attempt on our own. Third, the hotels that were included in the tour were wonderful. They were all very different, all highly rated, all very comfortable, and all different. They ranged from a modern hotel clinging to a mountainside with an incredible view, to a traditional guest house in a renovated mansion, to a gorgeous spa hotel in Mystras. Fourth, the included lunches were amazing! Panos handled all the ordering and made sure we were able to try many traditional Greek dishes, all cooked to a high standard of quality. We really enjoyed these lunch restaurants and on most days, we didn't even bother going out for dinner because we were full, lol. Because of Greece's system of licensing tour guides for specific sites, Panos would get us to the site and help us get our tickets (not included, but on many days in March, the entry was free), but let us explore the site on our own. We had Rick Steve's guidebook for Greece, which has excellent coverage of the major sites of the Peloponnese, and that was plenty of information to go through the various sites. This was our first time going on a private multi-day tour with a driver/guide, and we loved it. I had been to Greece before, many years ago as a student in a summer program that included multi-day excursions to historic sites, and Eudaimonia Tours & Experiences took us to areas I had never seen or even knew about (such as the cave sites). It was a magical experience, and I highly recommend this tour.Posted on mws22Verified Soooo glad we chose this wonderful company! Five stars, pus plus plus! We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Nikos and Theo at Eudaimonia. Nikos worked hard to find the right rooms for my son and me, and we were never disappointed; all accommodations were excellent, which I was not expecting, considering the reasonable cost of the tour. Nikos was also thorough and precise in messages. He taxied us during another part of our trip through Athens and gave us a wonderful two-hour tour that included the cultural center and a fabulous bakery. We enjoyed our time with him immensely. Our 8-day Peloponnese tour covered countless amazing sites. Unforgettable times at Mycenae, Monemvasia (ah, linger here!), Olympia, and the Meteora monasteries. The day trip to Hydra is strongly recommended. I would have liked to slow the tour down some because there is so much to learn and absorb! Our guide, Theo, could not have been a more congenial, knowledgeable, and fun companion. He was flexible and always eager to meet our wishes. When the mountain train was on strike and we saw a monastery up in the cliffs as we drove down, he made the detour happily, and this became one of my son's favorite stops. And he was tolerant of my fear of heights, which got the better of me once or twice on the high roads! Our delicious lunches full of great conversation and laughter will long be remembered. We saved endless amounts of time, stress, money and mistakes by experiencing Greece with these professionals. Do not hesitate to entrust your group to the team at Eudaimonia--best decision of our trip!Posted on Go611466Verified Best way to Tour Greece It is rather daunting to book a four day tour for a family of five adults based upon a website and reviews, but we are so glad we did! Everything was absolutely great from the hotels, we let Nikos order all the amazing food for us, safe driving, comfortable van, and doorstep drop off and pick up service to the sites. Nikos provided great stories and facts along the way and helpful tips about the sites. Financially, it is more expensive of course than self driving. However, what we saw in four days would have taken us five days or more along with the additional cost of extra hotel and food. And our trip was so relaxing, enjoyable, stress free, and informative. An amazing way to holiday in Greece. A shout out to Nikos who was our tour leader and driver - and answered our emails promptly. His professionalism is superb and his English flawless with only a trace of an accent so very easy to listen to. Thank you for making our trip so memorable Nikos. I will recommend this highly to friends and relatives.Posted on Lisa DVerified AMAZING!!!!!!! Best tours EVER!! We loved the first tour with them so much, we did more!! Panayiotis and Nikos were amazing!! My husband and I were so happy that we booked these tours. Neither one of us realized how beautiful the Peloponnese and Northern Greece regions really were until we did this tour. Loved the we didn’t have to choose a restaurant in unfamiliar places. It takes a lot for me to trust people to choose that for me, and I’m so glad we did!! Great choices!! It was a highlight for both of us!! The food and culture were right up there with the beauty, and it all tied together perfectly! This tour and guide brought that beauty to life for both of us!! You have to just do it!!Posted on Kelly DVerified Three wonderful days in the Peloponnese We spent three wonderful days seeing the sights with Nikos. This was actually our second trip with Nikos. He showed up Athens and Corinth two years ago and we had some much fun, we came back. I would highly recommend the tour of the Peloponnese. Mycenae was incredible and not something that everyone gets to see like the Acropolis. Hydra was stunningly beautiful and a fun trip, but we fell in love with Nafplio. From wondering the quaint streets of old town, to sampling Ouzo, to having a great dinner at an outdoor cafe, it was very memorable. Having Nikos for a guide is more like traveling with a very knowledgeable friend. He's very accommodating and does his best to tailor things the way you want. This was a trip that we'll remember forever.Posted on Ken RVerified Fantastic Tour. Definitely recommended as the way to experience Greece My wife and I did a 6 day tour of the Peloponnese which included a day on Hydra Island and we highly recommend Eudaimonia Private Tours. The tour itinerary is well thought out and provides visitors with an in-depth travel experience covering the regions history, archeology, culture, food and diverse geography. Being a relatively small tour company allows for a highly personal tour experience. Nicos was excellent to work with throughout the initial contact, planning and monitoring of our trip. For example he recommended spending a few days in Nafplio, rather than Athens, to recover from the long flight from western Canada. Nafplio is a wonderful place to visit. Nico also provided a private airport pickup which timing had to be changed at the last minute because of a missed flight connection in Paris and was regularly checking in with our driver and tour guide, Theo. Theo met us at the Athens airport with a warm smile and a clean comfortable car. Theo is an outstanding guide and driver. His dedication to service is second to none, which when combined with his archeological and historical knowledge of Greece, provides a wonderful tour experience. A few examples of Theo’s dedication to service. Before our arrival in Athens Theo contacted the hotel we had separately reserved in Nafplio for the days prior to our tour. The hotel did not have our reservation. Theo had the glitch resolved for us before our late arrival at the hotel. Theo went out of his way to make each day of our tour enjoyable, comfortable and specially matched to our personal interests and preferences. A daily highlight of our tour was having lunch at a small local restaurant. Theo would do all the ordering for us knowing our food likes and dislikes and ensured that over the tour we experienced a broad selection of the Greek cuisine. Theo also was excellent in communicating with the restaurant chefs to accommodate my wife’s multiple food allergies which eliminated the stress of eating out in a foreign country. In total we spent 17 days in Greece also seeing Athens and cruising the Greek Islands. For us the highlight of the trip was the Eudaimonia Peloponnese tour, and the stars were Nicos and Theo. Thank you both for a great trip. Ken and Gloria, Calgary, CanadaPosted on Robert SVerified Beyond Expectations! Just returned from visiting Greece, starting with a 5 Day Private Tour of the Peloponnese with Eudaimonia Private Tours. I am being completely honest when I say it was one of the most enjoyable vacations I have ever had, in large part because of our experience with our guide, Panayiotis. He has a gift when it comes to reading his audience and it was from the very start at our airport pick-up first thing in the morning, that his professionalism and good-natured personality began to shine. As we were a party of 2, one can imagine we were probably all wondering how the next 5 days might unfold, but in this instance any concerns were quickly dismissed. By the end of the tour, we had shared so many stories and laughs that saying goodbye was like leaving a good friend. We took in many sites and sights during those 5 days from the ocean to the mountains; stayed in beautiful accommodations, met many wonderful people, and enjoyed terrific meals. If you are planning a trip to Greece, you would be missing out if you did not consider Eudaimonia Private Tours for a unique, and authentic travel adventure.Posted on Barbara BVerified Delivered as promised…Eudaimonia! My husband and I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Greece that started off exceptionally well due to the expertise of Eudamonia Private Tours. Our 5-day tour of the Peloponnese was thoughtfully organized by Nikos, and executed to perfection by our guide, Panayiotis. We visited so many amazing locations with breath-taking views, immersed ourselves in the richness of ancient history, met many welcoming people and sampled fabulous food, all the time feeling fully cared for. The tour was like traveling with an old friend, proud to share their heritage with first time visitors eager to soak it all in. We thoroughly enjoyed this authentic experience as Panayiotis was not only knowledgeable and flexible with the full itinerary, but he was also conscientious, kind, and considerate, raising the bar beyond our expectations. With so many laughs along the way, our 5-day private tour was the highlight of our 14-day trip. I would recommend this private tour without any reservations. Communication with the company was seamless from start to finish. Their website provides an excellent overview of the tour, but surely you will be most impressed with your personalized experience.Posted on Anne TVerified Perfect day tour from Athens Theo, with Eudaimonion, whom we booked through Get Your Guide, provided a perfect experience for our private day-long tour. His friendliness, local knowledge, and efficiency made for a relaxed, delightful excursion. Highly recommended!Posted on Julie RVerified Flexible and Personally Curated Tour From start to finish, this trip was thoughtfully curated and accommodating to our needs. My father has some additional mobility considerations, and Theo was more than willing to assist and flex to make sure we were all comfortable during our travels and our stay in Nafplio. The trip was well organized, down to the lunch details! Can’t go wrong with Theo as your guide!
